WESM Overview (syllabus click to download)
WESM Overview is a two-hour seminar with an audio-visual presentation and open forum. This seminar is free of charge and conducted on a per request basis.
Basic WESM Training (syllabus click to download)
The Basic WESM Training course which introduces the participants to the basic concepts of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) to prepare them for participation in the WESM. This course will equip the participants with the basic principles governing the WESM operations. This includes discussions on the provisions of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (ERIRA) pertaining to the Philippine electricity market, the governance and the role of WESM in the power industry as well as its basic operations. This consists of modules on the introduction to WESM, Scheduling and Pricing, Trading Operations, Billing and Settlements. It includes the demo on handling the Market Participant’s Interface (MPI) the links the WESM Members to the trading operations in the WESM and the Central Registration and Settlement System (CRSS) as well
Reserve Market Training
The Reserve Market Training course is designed to provide the participants, especially the Generators Companies and the Energy Storage with an overview for registration, trading, pricing and settlement of their facilities that are capable of providing ancillary services. The participants are expected to learn and offer four types of ancillary services – they are Regulation Down, Regulation UP, Contingency Reserve and Dispatchable Reserve.
Retail Market Training (syllabus click to download)
The Retail Market Training course is a two-day course, which provides the trainees with an introduction on the basic principles governing the operations in the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) regime in the Philippines. The training will include discussion in the provisions of the relevant laws pertaining to the implementation of the RCOA, the processes involved to the integration of the retail market operations in the WESM and an introduction of the Central Registration Settlement System that shall handle the transaction between and among market participants.

The Advanced WESM Training courses will equip the participants with advanced knowledge on the operations of the WESM in greater detail. These courses are aimed at providing a deeper understanding of the background, concepts and scope of the Trading Operations, Scheduling and Pricing and Billing and Settlement in the WESM employing in-depth discussion, problems solving/simulations using retail market data and case studies, if applicable.
